Process
We balance both preference and performance, making it applicable to anyone who is hoping to get more enjoyment out of their bike. The bike fit process takes approximately two hours
Precision fit interview
During the interview our Precision Fit technician will get an idea of who you are as a rider, and who you want to be. The interview considers physical fitness, the type of riding you primarily do or want to do, and any current or past injuries you might have. We’ll ask about where you experience discomfort on the bike. Our technicians are first trained to listen, and this is where the process is tailored to you.
The on-bike assessment
The on-bike assessment works from the ground up, evaluating proper positioning of the saddle for optimal knee bend. We set up your cleats and ensure that you are centred over the pedal, getting maximum power. We evaluate your posture and adjust handlebar length and position to give you a neutral spine, the most comfortable and efficient position.
Saddle mapping
Most riders find it difficult to feel how they are sitting on a saddle, and discomfort or numbness can take an hour or more to occur. A saddle pressure mapping like the GebioMized - Precision Fit we use in-store takes all guess out of finding your correct saddle position and also the type of saddle that is going to work with your particular anatomy, position and riding style. We make sure every part of you feels comfortable on the bike.
Follow up review
After your bike fit and the changes have been made to enhance your riding position on the bike, it's bound to feel a bit different for a while - for the better! For any reason, if your fit doesn't feel perfect, book a follow up review and we will check everything over for you again, and adjust as needed.

FAQ
Bike fit is fundamental to comfort, performance, and injury prevention. Whether you're new to cycling or upgrading your setup, getting the right fit makes all the difference. Below you'll find answers to common questions about bike fit, sizing, and how we can help you find your perfect ride.
What is a precision bike fit?
A precision bike fit is a full assessment of how you sit on your bike, adjusted to improve your comfort and power. At CYCO we use a precision fit bike to replicate your position, then work through a 5-part process to dial in saddle height, cleats, reach and handlebar position. The fit is tailored to you, not to a brand or a riding style
Who should get a bike fit?
Anyone who rides. You do not have to race to get value from a fit. Whether you commute, ride to the café at weekends or train for events, a good position makes your time on the bike more comfortable and efficient. It is also worth booking one if you have just picked up a new bike or you are coming back after time off.
What happens during a CYCO bike fit?
The fit is a 5-part process that starts with a conversation. Your Precision Fit technician asks about your riding, your fitness and any past injuries or discomfort. From there we run an on-bike assessment from the ground up, setting saddle height for the right knee bend, centring your cleats for power and adjusting your reach and bars for a neutral spine. We finish by mapping your saddle pressure and making the changes to your bike.
What is saddle pressure mapping and why does it matter?
Saddle pressure mapping shows exactly where you put pressure when you sit on the saddle. Most riders cannot feel this, and numbness or discomfort can take an hour or more to show up. We use a GebioMized system to take the guesswork out of finding the right saddle position and the right saddle shape for your anatomy.
How long does a precision bike fit take?
Set aside around 2 hours. A precision fit works through 5 stages and we do not rush any of them, so it takes longer than a quick saddle-height tweak. If you are short on time, give us a call and we will let you know what to expect on the day.
How much does a bike fit cost at CYCO?
A precision bike fit at CYCO is $199. That covers the full 5-part process, from the interview through to the on-bike assessment, saddle pressure mapping and the adjustments to your own bike.
Can a bike fit help with pain, numbness or discomfort?
Yes. Pain and numbness on the bike usually come down to position, and a fit is the best way to sort it out. We ask where you feel discomfort during the interview, then use the on-bike assessment and saddle mapping to find the cause. If you have a current or past injury, tell us and we will work around it.
Will a bike fit make me faster?
It can help. A good position lets you put more power through the pedals and hold an efficient shape for longer, which usually means you ride faster and tire less. The bigger win for most riders is comfort, and comfort is what keeps you riding.
Should I get a bike fit before buying a new bike?
Yes, and it is one of the smartest things you can do. A fit tells us your ideal riding position, so we can recommend the right size and setup across any brand rather than guessing. You do not need to own the bike yet. We use our precision fit bike to find your numbers first, then match you to the bike.
What should I wear and bring to my bike fit?
Wear the cycling kit you normally ride in, and bring your cycling shoes and pedals if you have them. If the fit is for a bike you already own, bring the bike along so we can make the changes on the day. If you are fitting for a new bike, just bring yourself.
What happens if my fit doesn't feel right afterwards?
A new position can feel different for a week or so while your body adjusts, and that is normal. If it still does not feel right, book a follow-up review. We will check everything over and adjust it until it feels good.
