The Shimano RC703 Wide is a race-focused road shoe for riders who want S-Phyre fit and stiffness without the flagship price. The wide version is built on Shimano's Dynalast Wide last, which adds around 9 to 10mm of circumference at the ball of the foot, so broader feet get the room they need without sizing up and losing heel hold.

The upper is perforated synthetic leather with a lightweight TPU mesh, wrapping around the foot and down to the midsole instead of using a traditional tongue. That spreads pressure evenly as you wind in the two BOA L6Z dials. Underneath sits a hollow carbon midsole with a stiffness index of 10 out of 12, with drainage ports at the toe and heel to move air and water. Sole width and length stay the same as the standard RC703, so cleat position and pedalling platform are unchanged.
