Vala AL
The Santa Cruz Vala AL is the aluminium version of Santa Cruz's all-mountain electric bike, and the more versatile of the 2 Bosch-powered bikes in the range. It suits riders who want one bike for flowing trails, long days and rough after-work laps.
Like the Bullit it uses a four-bar Horst link rather than VPP, with a Bosch Performance Line CX motor and a 600Wh internal battery. A 250Wh Bosch PowerMore range extender can be added to take total capacity to 850Wh, which is the difference between a big day and a very big day. The aluminium frame keeps the price down and takes the sting out of rock strikes.
The AL runs Bosch's LED System Controller in the top tube rather than the Kiox display, with a wireless mini remote on the bar for mode changes and walk mode.

The sensible choice if the Bullit is more bike than your trails need. The battery is fixed rather than removable and there is no Kiox display option on the aluminium frame, so check both suit how you ride.
