Trek Domane SL
The Domane has always been the Trek you ride when the route is long and the surface is unreliable. Gen 5 sharpens that without softening it: still an endurance bike, but quicker under power than the outgoing model and noticeably lighter.
The 500 Series OCLV Carbon frame keeps IsoSpeed at the seat tube, the decoupler that lets the seatmast flex over chatter while the rest of the frame stays stiff. Tyre clearance runs to 38mm, so a set of gravel tyres turns it into a genuine all-road bike rather than a road bike making excuses. Internal downtube storage swallows a tube and a multitool, and there are fender mounts for winter.
Two builds. The SL 6 AXS runs SRAM Rival AXS wireless with Aeolus Elite 50 carbon wheels. The SL 5 is mechanical Shimano 105 on Paradigm alloy.
Good on Auckland's back roads, better on a long Sunday. Every Trek frame carries a lifetime warranty. Get in touch about sizing.
