Hightower

The Hightower is Santa Cruz's do-everything trail bike and probably the most useful bike they make. 150mm of VPP travel at the rear, 160mm up front, on 29in wheels. It is light enough to pedal all day and long-legged enough to send when the trail turns down, which is why it ends up being the one bike a lot of riders keep.

Two carbon layups are offered. Carbon CC is the lighter, top-end frame, Carbon C is the value-minded option, and both carry a lifetime warranty and Santa Cruz's Bearings for Life. Every model gets the Glovebox in-frame storage with its Tool Wallet and Tube Purse, and the same tyres and big rotors regardless of where you start in the range.

• 90. Carbon C, SRAM 90 cable-operated T-Type Transmission, SRAM Maven brakes, upgraded hubs, headset and dropper.
• Deore. Carbon C, Shimano Deore drivetrain, same tyres and rotors as the rest of the range.
• Frame CC. Carbon CC frame only.
